A Section of Our Dorf Family

I have worked at this particular family tree on and off for many, many years. However, once I started emailing with John Singer, another Dorf relative interested in genealogy, many blanks got filled in and it is now finished as of February, 2009. Family trees are never really finished because new information is always being added. I have concentrated on that branch of the family, which is directly linked to my husband, Leighton. There are other branches however, tied together by Pearl Dorf’s father and grandfather.

Dorf Family – Cousins of the Siegels & some Siegels

“This is the only known photo of the Siegel cousins together. Grandpa Chaim, Aunt Jennie, Uncle Carl, etc. called them “Cousin Joe”, “Cousin Irv”, etc. They were first cousins to our grandfather (Chail Siegel) because they were Michael Labes children. It’s possible you did not know them. But those of us in Virginia like Sam Siegel and myself had a close relationship with them. And Ada and I still feel close to Fannie’s children and grandchildren who are looked upon as close family. From left to right: Sidney Israel, Fan Israel, Wm. Israel, Pat Tully, Rose Siegel, Joe Siegel, Ben Walt, Laura Siegel, Irv Siegel, Belle Siegel, (David Israel in front), Anne Marans, Albert Marans, Robert Marans. All the Siegel cousins are deceased except 92 years young who lives in Florida and Michigan and Laura who has since remarried and cousins Sidney and David Israel and cousin Robert Marans.
